Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin - damn if she isn’t a great looking woman.

Hillary proved you could run successfully for the Presidency as a woman, but ugly just doesn't do it. Her pantsuits and saggy, well…, that’s not what the American people want to look at during a presidential race.

Heck, I’d run after this woman and vote for her also. John McCain is a smart cookie and he hit it out of the ballpark with his VP selection of Sarah Palin.

She certainly isn't bad to look at. I'm not sure I agree with your line of thinking though. The notion that the American people will vote for someone just because they are attractive is quite disturbing. This is not a beauty pageant.
I've read some things about her that aren't as flattering as her smile. Do some research, and I think you'll find that she's abused the powers of her office. Her husband suddenly got a great paying job as an Oil production manager after she took office. He didn't have previous experience that would warrant this position. Alaska's attorney general's office has spent over 100K dollars investigating a highway patrolman, at her command. This patrolman just happened to be her sister's ex-husband, whom her sister was involved in a bitter child custody battle. They didn't find reason to fire the patrolman, so Palin fired the man she tasked with investigating him. These things all just came out, so we'll see how they play out.
Personally, I would have liked for the best "man" for the job to be the choice, instead of some political stunt. America deserves better. John McCain could have cemented my vote with his VP pick. He certainly has left a lot to be desired with this recent action.

Perhaps this forum isn't the place for political conversation. I apologize and will agree to disagree. I will write this however, Biden has been in the Senate for 35 years and your mistaken if you think he's squeaky clean. During the '87 presidential campaign Biden sought the lime light but was forced to withdraw... Why?

No politician is free of 'allegations'. If firing someone inappropriately is the worst the Liberals have to dig up... well so be it. The GOP still has my vote.

Major General,

I have to admit... that is one nice mental image.

She knows how to fire an AR15 and She's a life member of the NRA. That's OK in my book.

So let's accept these allegations as minor, and trust that she won't take it any further when given the job of second in command of the United States of America. HA! Come on people, let's get serious here. You mean to tell me that this is acceptable behavior for our leaders? There's no chance the GOP will get my vote this fall. I'm praying for a strong Independent to emerge.

Chaindriven, This is just the place for political discourse, especially when it involves the love of our hobby. I wasn't too sure about Sara but having watched her in the debate and in other appearances I am convinced she is PERFECT for the job. Smart, articulate, well educated, well informed and hot! What more could you ask for? And as far as President, you have a lawyer with a name that sounds like he should be riding a camel not smoking one, married to a lawyer who hates the country her husband wants to run, then you have a war hero with a last name that starts with Mc who's wife owns a beer distributorship. What the hell are we thinking?

Life is short, THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

Salutations General,

I am pleased to read your post and could not have expressed my feelings better. Governor Palin is commander-in-chief of the Alaskan National Guard. The state's Guard has about 4,000 members. Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. Palin understands what's at stake here. Palin oversees military units whose duties include serving overseas, search-and-rescue missions across the state's vast landscape and manning key elements of the U.S. missile defense system at Fort Greely. The Alaska National Guard is unusual in that its jobs include manning sections of the U.S. missile defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion works on interceptor missiles designed to shoot down intercontinental missiles. Members of the Alaska National Guard also were deployed to Iraq, and Palin visited their unit in July ‘07. I feel Palin has more foreign policy experience than Obama. I think at 44, with two years running the nation's northernmost state, she has what it takes to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Besides, the President has to surround themselves with good people. Don’t think this Country is run by only one person.
