I watched in horror as Presidential Candidate Barack Obama pride fully made the statement. . ."We are no longer a Christian Nation; we are now a nation of Christians, Jews, Muslims and Buddhists. As with so many other statements he and his wife have made, I never thought I'd hear something like that from a political candidate. To think our forefathers fought and died for the right for our nation to be a Christian Nation. Only to have this man say with pride, that we are no longer a Christian Nation. This nation has gone light years away from what our founding fathers intended it to be. With God's help, we can show this man and the world in November that we are, indeed a Christian Nation! Awake America, for this time next year will be too late. Don't worry about us older generations, think of our children and our grandchildren. Vote for an AMERICAN that is proud to be live in a Christian nation. May God Bless America |

I'm regeristered and waiting, Sir. But, I must unfortunately report Sir, he has a great minority vote here in Columbus Ohio. Alot of signs displayed in front yards. The local news talks of him, as if, he was JFK. |

Brad, Please understand, this off topic conversation forum string should be taken for what it is. An expression of ideas and opinions. If used for anything else - disclaimers are required. I'm unable to provide a web link or proof of my comment. It was only an opinion after listening to his statements made in Turkey. I have attempted to locate a transcript of his speech, without success. However his comments understated our Troop's performance. Obama's statements: (per my recollection only) I agree with the last part, but I believe there is measurable improved security for the Iraqi people. Since the troop surge, our troops have heroically helped reduce civilian casualties in Iraq to early '06 levels. That fact was omitted and should be considered disrespectful, in my opinion. Obama should see this as a testament to our military’s hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics, and sacrifice by our troops and their military families. In addition the consequence of the decision to send more troops motivated many Sunnis to turn against al Qaeda in Iraq. (more opinion) "When Determined To Survive, Leave Nothing To Chance" |

Barak Obama is little more than a Socialist with Fascist leanings. The concept of taxing the oil company's "obscene" profits is testimony to that fact. Corporations DO NOT pay taxes! Only the consumer pays taxes. Raise the cost of production of ANY product simply raises the COST of the product to the consumer. Additionally the profits of the oil company, or almost any company is directly related to the dividends the stock holders reap, Many Americans own Mutual Funds, which in turn own stock in individual companies. Many of the companies are oil concerns. The policy of class warfare "tax the rich, give to the poor" is simply a socialist concept. Screw Robin Hood! Get off your butts and work! (To the jealous masses) America was built on the free market system. As soon as FDR came along and started undermining our rights America has slowly become a nation of takers and welfare babies. What happened to people like John Adams, George Washington and others who risked everything on the concept of individual freedom? I say vote them all out and start fresh, failing that, another revolution doesn't sound too bad to me either. That's my opinion and I welcome yours. Life is short, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! |

General Carp, I agree. George Washington and our founding Fathers where Revolutionist. By the very definition - Those involved with the overthrow thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed. Perhaps this cycle has run its course. Another revolution is an event that is destined for all governments given enough time, like it or not. Hence the term 'Revolution' - A cycle of events, a recurrence after a period of time. I agree with both you Chaindriven and many of our founding fathers, "A revolution every 20 years in necessary." On a completely different note I would like you to consider that Obama forbade his staff from wearing green on his Middle East trip. The logic is Green is associated with the terrorist group Hamas and moreso specifically with Islam in general. Let me point out Mr. Obama's campaign signs are GREEN! Am I grasping at straws or is there some subliminal message here? Is this "Change we can believe in?" Life is short, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! |

Obama scares the hell out of me. You can't Google him without finding something offensive! Yet, he is "their" choice... And the rhetoric hasn't even yet begun.... This will not be a time for McCain to be politically correct. He must attack Obama and offend all of us. It was Washington that said every four hundred years our government must be over thrown, it is the only way our form of government can work. What we all must know about Washington's statement is that he believed it would be one nation under God. If we all seek our own agendas, then our revolution is anarchy. The streets would run red with everyone's blood. This election is no winner for either side, the Democraps are trying to think outside of the box, they took a world record ass-whipping last time, they don't know what else to do. But fellow Republicans, don't confident in McCain, he is no winner either. This is also the best our party has to offer us.... The future is grim, and the only winners here will be the independents and anti-Christ! |

JD, Chain, It's election time, and I see everyone aligning themselves with their TEAMS (political party.) This is the problem with the people of the United States. Doesn't matter what their Team has done with their time in office, as soon as election time rolls around it's a giant tailgate party with everyone gathered on their side of the fence, tossing tomatoes at the other side. We will never become a great country again if we remain divided as a people. When will we, as Americans, wise up and rise up against the people that are fleecing our country? Think about that next time you're ready to fire a tomato. |

Thanks General, as I stated in another topic, I have a great deal of respect for your opinion. As a person who is sitting on the fence between the tomato tossers, let me tell you, it has me begging for a third party that will allow me to sit higher on the fence to avoid the crossfire. A third party! A place for conservatives fed up with corruption, and moderates tired of free handouts. A party that would unite the nation to face the real challenges ahead, and ignore the typical 2 party arguing points that have no tangible effect on the nation as a whole. That's something I could buy into. |

The Founding Fathers completely opposed the party system. They thought that a two party system would divide the Country and stymie political growth. Earlier this year, I had a conversation with a supporter of Ron Paul and I was impressed with both the supporter and Ron Paul’s platform. "When Determined To Survive, Leave Nothing To Chance" |

Ron Paul is a great American, and an extremely intelligent man. He didn't get a fair shake from the media or the other Republican Party candidates. Some of the things he was bringing to light weren't issues they wanted "out there." |

INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY London Times Article) U.S. Has Won The War On Terror, but the U.S. media has not told the American public. Apparently, we have to. British newspapers report that Forces have defeated the last remnants of al-Qaida in Iraq. London's Sunday Times called it "The Culmination Of One Of The Most Spectacular Victories Of The War On Terror." A terrorist force that once numbered more than 12,000, with strongholds in the west and central regions of Iraq, has been reduced to a mere 1,200 fighters, backed against the wall in the northern city of Mosul. The destruction of al-Qaida in Iraq is one of the most unlikely and unforeseen events in the history of American warfare. We can thank President Bush's surge strategy, in which he bucked both Republican and Democratic leaders in Washington by increasing our forces there instead of surrendering. We can also thank the leadership of the new U.S. General he placed in charge, Gen. Petraeus, who may be the foremost expert in the world on counter-insurgency warfare. We can thank Both U.S. and Great Britain forces serving in Iraq who engaged local tribal leaders and convinced them America and Great Britain was their friend and Al-Qaida their enemy. Now, in Operation Lion's Roar the Iraqi army and the U.S. 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment is destroying the fraction of terrorists who are left. More than 1,000 Al-Qaida operatives have already been apprehended. Sunday Times reporter Marie Colvin, traveling with Iraqi forces in Mosul, found little Al-Qaida presence even in bullet-ridden residential areas that were once insurgency strongholds, and reported that the terrorists have lost control of its Mosul urban base, with what is left of the organization having fled south into the countryside. Things are going so well that Maliki has even for the first time floated the idea of a timetable for withdrawal of American forces. He did so while visiting the United Arab Emirates, which over the weekend announced that it was forgiving almost $7 billion of debt owed by Baghdad an impressive vote of confidence from a fellow Arab state in the future of a free Iraq. Where are the U.S. Headlines and the Front-Page stories about all this good news? As the International Media Research Center pointed out last week, "The CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News and CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 were silent Tuesday night about the benchmarks" that signaled political progress. The war in Iraq has been turned around 180 degrees both militarily and politically because the U.S. President stuck to his guns. Yet apart from IBD, Fox News Channel and the foreign press, the media outlets don't seem to consider this historic event story worthy. |
