In the movie "GI Jane" the SEALs were using a personal field radio that looked like they were pushing on their throats to activate the mic. Are these radios real? And if so, where can I find one? Thanks |

Tactical/military Push-To-Talk (PTT) throat microphone are designed to be used for personal wearing facemasks, breathing apparatus and protective suits that require communication. The microphone is positioned right up against the throat. A remote finger activated PTT is also available. There are listening devices available to be used with them. These range from lightweight headsets, electronic earmuffs and high-noise headphones. I like the small tactical electronic earplugs. Real slick for operations that require constant awareness while out in the field. I have seen combination throat microphones & electronic earplugs systems at gun shows for approx. cost of $380 for low end to over $500 for the better models.
