I have a 39-2. Older 9mm with checkered wood grips. The bluing hasn't held up too good, and she's pretty loose; but it's a nice example of the older pocket pistols.

This was one of my first firearm acquisitions. This one has very rich bluing and beautiful checkered grip with sterling silver S&W logo. Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 chambered in 9mm lead the way for many first shot double action autos. With its alloy frame and adjustable rear sight, many Law Enforcement Agencies used them as duty pistols during the 1970's. It was later discontinued for the Model 59 as the need for higher capacity magazine was sought.

Thanks Partner.
I believe production of the model 39 was replaced by the model 59 about the time. I will do some checking and let you know. It's a good sidearm and reliable. Accuracy is above the service grade performance level in my opinion.
