I am considering buying a Remington 700 VTR in .308 Win. I intend to mount a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10 x 50mm scope on this rifle. I would appreciate any critiques or comments regarding this rifle and scope combination. Do you consider this a good choice, or do you have a different choice in the same price range? Thanks!

Well the Remington 700 is an awesome base to start with. great reliable shooters and a good round too. But i personally think that the Zeiss products are, while quite good, grossly over priced. They do the same thing and Leopold or even Nikon will do and they do it for a lot less. But if your hearts set on the Zeiss, the go with it you won't be disappointed.
