DRUG TESTING

I AM IN FAVOR OF DRUG TESTING TO BE PART OF THE APPLICATION , AT LEAST YOU WHERE NOT ON DRUGS WHEN THE STATE ISSUED THE PERMIT TO CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON , DRUGS AND GUNS DONT MIX ! I WILL GLADLY SUBMIT TO A DRUG TEST , IN ORDER TO KEEP MY HOBIE GOING ! I LOVE GUNS.

I also have to submit to a test annually for my pay check. I strongly believe that those accepting welfare should be tested prior to any government payment and at each subsequent payment during the entire period they collect welfare money.

I think it's a reasonable idea, and I would have no problem passing the test. The thing I don't like about it is that it's a serious invasion of privacy. Once you start loosening the reigns on your rights, you can't get them back. If you're a drug abuser or user, you most likely have had your share of run ins with the law, so I'm sure that would disqualify you without a drug test.

The major is right guys. Don.t give up any more rights. I believe in a free America, and if the crack head next door wants to own and carry a gun, then he should. No exceptions to the rules. This is America and I can do anything I want to do as long as I am willing to face the consequinces. Just because a man is a dope head or even criminal, he still has the right to arm and defend himself. I find it sad that our countrymen are so willing to give up their rights and liberties, that were paid for with the blood and lives of so many others. Before Ohio started issuing permits to carry, I had been carrying for 20 yrs. illegally... And had I been cought, they would have told me I was no longer allowed to own a firearm, and I would; illegally!

TO ALLOW KNOW CRIMINALS TO LEGALLY POSSESS A FIREARM. No one is talking about giving up any freedoms currently enjoyed by law abiding citizens. I am not sure how or way it was suggested that a firearm purchase would require a drug test. However, a drug dealer or habitual user has, by there own choice given up their rights to legally own firearms. I will argue that a crack head does not have the mental capacity to be a responsible firearm owner. The paper work that must be completed to obtain gun sold by a licensed firearm dealer can not be sold to anyone that answerers YES to the question: ARE YOU AN UNLAWFUL USER OF,OR ADDICTED TO MARIJUANA, STIMULANT, OR NARCOTIC DRUG, OR ANY OTHER CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE? The key word here is 'UNLAWFUL' - Rifleman's friend that smokes pot for medical reasons is a LAWFUL user of that narcotic.

If you're worried about the 'Anti-Firearm' crowd, join the National Rifle Association. The NRA spends millions every day to fight for our right to own firearms. I am sympathetic to those that use non conventional medical methods to find relief. They have made a choice and must abide by the laws. The line is drawn. You want to legally own a firearm... DO USE ILLEGAL DRUGS. Regarding the right of an employer to fire someone that uses marijuana, my opinion is that they are absolutely within their right. An employee that uses is a liability. No question about it. We can't have it both ways. Those that are functioning alcoholics or drug addicts and have access or carry a firearm are dangerous. All firearm owners have to agree on this or we are providing the 'Anti-Firearm' crowd with ammunition and I for one do not want to give those bastards anything.

I respect every member of this forum's opinions, whether I agree with it or not. I do find that I am in agreement with most of Colonol Chaindriven's opinions and advices. Nice WWII BDU paraphernalia. I especially like the left sleeve Airborne insignia arching over the All-American Division shoulder patch. Also like the prized jump wings. Super condition my friend.

You should be very proud of those. From what I understand they are much coveted. Jump wings are very special. They also mean you jumped out of a perfectly good airplane!
