Sergent Major, I own the Chief Marshal chambered in .357 magnum and has a 6.5" barrel, tall blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. My revolver was manufactured in 1963. In the day, it was considered a target revolver. I generally feed it .38 Specials. I have enjoyed shooting it. The gun will produce very favorable targets. A word to the wise, the action is a true single action. Not like the new Ruger Black Hawks. You must pull the hammer to half cock to rotate the cylinder to load and unload it. Then, and this is VERY important, pull the hammer to full cock carefully keeping your thumb on the hammer, pulling the trigger to ease the hammer to rest. It will rest on the firing pin. Always carry it on an empty chamber. Also if you don't do as I write, and ease the hammer to rest from half cocked, the timing lug will SCORE your cylinder. Again from half cock it must be 'carefully' fully cocked to release the cylinder timing lug and prevent damaging the cylinder. Look at my gun. I have a slight score from allowing others less acquainted with original single actions to handle my firearm. Otherwise it is in pristine condition for a gun that is 45 years old. Good luck and enjoy your single action.

You are truly welcome my friend. One of the responsibilities of firearm ownership is research and education. I was happy to see your post and inquiry regarding this revolver. Not many fancy the single actions. I have always had a soft spot for them. If RnG can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.
