I will always stand by that the 1911A1 45 acp is the best in combat handguns. I do like the 357 mag but the 45 will always be # 1 with me. I carry a Springfield Mil-spec .

Spoken like a true 1911 owner. The 45ACP is one of the finest cartridges ever produced. Many swear by the relatively new 40 cal., in my book it will never over take the popularly of the 45. At least with me. The .357 Magnum is it's own legacy to be sure Master Sergeant.

I'm also a proud owner of a 1911, and it has proven to be a great carry weapon. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

I own a Kimber Custom II and while i love the gun for target practice and competition, I really prefer my Sig Sauer P-220R .45 ACP for personal and home defense and teamed with a Streamlight TLR-1 Tac light works great for checking out bumps in the night. I guess it always comes down to personal preference.

I carried my Colt 1911 today and shot my Kimger Gold Match on Saturday.
