Lt Colonel, you'll get no sympathy from this Northern Minnesotan. Get your @$$ to the range partner and tell us how your CETME fires. I have a Century Arms refurbished CETME. I had to rework the cocking mechanism, it was not very smooth. But I am a perfectionist. The CETME is a great rifle with a lot of world history. Congratulations.

haha well it got above 25 and stopped snowing today so i fired off a couple of magazines. How did you go about reworking the cocking system? mine needs it, but it's a solid shooter. I just Moved back to Colorado After living in Texas for three years and doing 13 months in Iraq, so it'll take some time to acclimatize.

can you find all the brass when your done. the hot shells tend to cut the snow pretty good , and they stick to the ice, scopes realy suck up the light and get crystal clear . i need a vacation ,not for four more months ,wife is graduating master deg.( nurse anesthesia )then we get to play in the snow !

LTC Osiris5432, The problem was the bolt got hung up when it was fully pulled back. I removed bolt assembly and polished the cocking tube starting about 1/2" before the hold open slot. Then I shaved the retainer pin a bit and reposition it to clear the tube. The trick is carefully supporting the spring while lining up the retaining pin under spring pressure. If you don’t properly support the cocking tube, you’ll have a tight fit between the retaining pin and plunger. You can bend the cocking tube or break the welds between the cocking tube and the receiver. This may take an extra pair of hands, I had my Son assist. The rifle works smooth as silk now.

BG Fred, I put on close to 100 miles on my wife's Arctic Cat - Panther going to and from the fish house. Close to 200 miles on my Polaris Indy riding the trails and pitting at the watering hole. The snowmobile trails up here are fantastic. They groom the trails twice a week. I haven't seen conditions this good in seven years.

The Crappie fishing is great gentlemen. The lakes are at a high water cycles, and fish populations have peaked. It’s common for a lot of nice fish to go home in our buckets. I practice catch-and-release. I have to use restraint and release some of the big ones to be caught again. I just keep enough for a good meal, that way there will be decent fishing for years to come. I hope others are doing the same.

BG Fred, here are a couple of images taken just before Christmas. The first one is of my Daughter on my sled. My Wife's machine is in the foreground. The other image is of me, my daughter and my son.

I will have to find some better photos later.
