Sure, I like HK products they make awesome handguns. However, they need to make the 416 available to private citizens. I mean ARRRRRRRRRG its frustrating to know such awesome weapon is out there and we can't get our hands on it.

I got shitloads of info & pictures of the HK416 from Angela Harrell at H&K US (she is sooo sexy!)'cos I needed the info for my book and you're right the HK416 is one hell of an AR-Based rifle but I'd personally go for the HK417 sharpshooter. About bloody time someone fitted a piston mechanism which in this case is a modified version of that found in the G36 at least now there'll be less carbon fouling than the direct gas impingement system of the standard M16.I saw this weapon in action on the 'Future Weapons' documentary on the discovery channel and I was bloody impressed with its downrange performance and it can really take a beating! I bet it would even outlive an AK47!

I think HK416 is one beuatiful hybrid of the best qualities of the venerable M16 and the rugged AK47. It has the looks and accuracy of the M16 and the superb reliability of the AK47..... (and the price of a G36, dang!!!!) Does it come with a conversion kit to fire .9mm? That would be the first thing I'd get should I win in the lottery

I have a HK93A1 that I bought new in the early 1980's for $750. I also bought the retractable stock, several spare mags, the claw scope mount, bi-pod, sling and spare parts kit at the same time. It is a fantastic rifle and has performed exceptionally well. I have taken very good care of it and it still looks new. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a bit heavy. I have been offered $3000 for it but do not intend selling it.

1st SGT Mitchell,
Hang on to your HK. No longer available and very tough to find.
(non-clones that is) It will only increase in value and will be a wonderful legacy to hand down to your children. Congratulation on owning a fine piece of hardware
